  • Lower thermostat settings this winter to 68 degrees F or lower
  • Close curtains, shades, and blinds at night and during unoccupied periods of the day
  • Close doors and windows while your HVAC system is running
  • Regularly check air ducts and pipe insulation for damage
  • Turn off gas equipment and heating appliances when not in use

  • Perform routine HVAC maintenance
  • Clean or replace dirty filters
  • Clean intake screens, supply registers, and return grills
  • Keep your furnace lubricated and properly adjusted
